Congratulations to Alan Houser for winning the January 2009 Locus of Control Design Spotlight Award for his design studio’s website, Creative Component. A total of 22 votes were collected for 4 nominated websites. Creative Component won by a margin of 2 votes. Details of the original nominations can be found here.
The February 2009 design spotlight contest is now accepting entries. This month, we’re focusing specifically on logo design, rather than whole websites. You may nominate any logo, your own or another designer’s. If you’ve already won a design spotlight award, you are still welcome to submit any logo for this month’s contest. Multiple nominations are welcome. Entries will be reviewed for validity and approved for voting. Depending on the number of submissions, some entries may be eliminated and a group of finalists chosen for the voting phase.

i vote for http://www.radioswissclassic.ch/en/playlist
its by far the best internet radio website i met. ever. simple, easy to understand, cool streaming options, light-weight, no cpu power needed, lots of in-depth information.
compare this to http://www.classicfm.co.uk/Default.asp : cluttered, flashy, unorderly, and the program’s full of verbal distractions. not even the commercials are adapted to classical music listeners.
- sorry, i let myself be carried away.
The February 2009 Design Spotlight is for logo design, specifically. Are you nominating those websites for logo design?
On behalf of Creative Component, I would like to thank all who voted. I would also like to thank Forest Ninja, my Mom and Al gore for creating the internet.
Alan
I was just perusing these when I thought of your contest thingy here for logos.

Of that set I nominate the Science Channel logo. Although I liked their old design too, I think the new one is good and brings it in line with the other discovery channel properties nicely.
Well since there don’t seem to be many entries, and I have a logo I really think is cute, I will nominate one as well.

I think this logo is cool because it’s cute looking and when you mouse over it, it changes (using a css “sprite” technique).
I think the logo for this site deserves a mention.
Not that it has anything to do with me helping design the logo or anything.
